Now in its fourth year The Streets of festival has grown and evolved year upon year, this years’ proving to be the most outstanding yet, affirming the festival’s place as a new tradition not only for Durham but for the whole North East region.

Festival goers were good spirited and loyal despite challenging bank holiday style weather. They brought the whole family or came with a gaggle of friends and pitched up on the colourful deck chairs, some of them staying for the whole weekend.

Crowds gathered for the Headline act at Streets of Folk- the phenomenal Peatbog Faeries, voting slips ran out for the Durham Dance Off such was the rush to place votes and Peoples’ Choice Award Winners Black Eagles returned to Tanzania with the coveted Streets Of Play Plaque which is now undoubtedly displayed proudly on their mantle piece!

There was plenty to get involved with this year too, Parkour workshops and crate balancing for the dare devils, song writing and the Big Moving Story for the little ones and the Quiet Riot for...well, everybody!
