BAE Systems Family Day

THOUSANDS of people turned out to enjoy the annual BAE Systems family day at the company's site in Brough.

And they were treated to a spectacular display of stunts, sideshows and flypasts – all under glorious sunshine.

Alan Hillary Events were delighted that more then 11,000 people enjoyed the day – BAE’s way of saying thanks for the hard work of their employees.

The family day included two event arenas, a buskers marquee, traditional fairground, circus and sideshows covering an area over 125,000sq meters. In the main arena Paul Swift Stunt Driving and The White Helmets provided exhilarating performances while entertainment elsewhere included police dog displays, clowns, comedians and street acts.

The event was held airside within the BAE Systems grounds which meant security and Foreign Object Damage (FOD) was a vital part of managing the event. The Alan Hillary Events team attended a safety training presentation before working on the site and were responsible for induction of all the sub-contractors and performers.

Tony Arksey, Brough Site and Services Director commented ‘The balance of displays, demonstrations and flying mixed with the traditional entertainment provided our employees and their families with an excellent day out.’
